Malvón, balcón y sol, en su acuarela
la callejuela de San Telmo pinta…
El marco anima con la niña bella
y el suave clima de la evocación.

La flor ya rara es.
La reja no es de hoy.
Los muros dejan ver el cielo, el sol....
¡Malvón! Mi corazón ya me abandona;
y es tu aroma que se asoma
quien retoma la ilusión.

Barrio mío, calles mías,
vuelvo de otras con hastío.
Rosas de melancolía
me añoraban alegrías de malvón...

Altas casas me apresaban,
y con éstas suspiraba:
sombras de zaguán,
patios con parral
y ancha bendición de sol.
Calles mías, barrio mío…
¡tu hijo pródigo soy yo!

(Instrumental)

Altas casas me apresaban,
y con éstas suspiraba:
sombras de zaguán,
patios con parral
y ancha bendición de sol.
Calles mías, barrio mío…
¡tu hijo pródigo soy yo!

English

Geranium, balcony and the sun, in its watercolor
The little street of San Telmo paints...
The lovely girl brings life to the frame
and the soft air of the evocation..

The flower is already rare,
the window grill is not from today.
The walls allow to see the sky, the sun...
Geranium! My heart already abandons me;
And it’s your scent that appears
to be the one picks up the dream again.

My neighborhood, my streets,
I come back from others with boredom.
Melancholy roses
I longed for the joy of geranium...

Tall houses snatched me
And with these ones I used to sigh:
shadows in the hallway,
Patio with grapevine pergolas
and the wide blessing of the sun.
My streets, my neighborhood…
I am your prodigal son!
