Tenía aquella casa no sé qué suave encanto

¡Si me parece verte!

aquellas marionetas saltaban y bailaban
prendiendo a tu alma inquieta la cálida emoción…

(Instrumental)

aquellas marionetas saltaban y bailaban
prendiendo a tu alma inquieta la cálida emoción…

English

I don’t know what sweet charm that house had
in the humble beauty of the colonial patio
covered in summer with the cape of flowers
that the wisterias, the grapevine and the rosebush wove...

It feels like I see you! The short skirt,
on the bench standing on your tiptoes,
messy curls and staring fascinated at
the puppets that spoke English, Russian and French.

-Wake up, Mrs. Rosa!... Mr. Panfilo, quickly!...
And that puppeteer of alcoholic voice gave us the show.
Your eyes were ecstatic:
those marionettes jumped and danced
attaching to your curious soul a warm emotion...
